What is a WhatsApp BSP, and do you need one?
Business Solution Providers, the Cloud API, and why “official” matters.

A WhatsApp BSP (Business Solution Provider) is a company authorised by Meta to provide businesses access to the WhatsApp Business Platform. BSPs help you onboard a WhatsApp Business Account, manage phone numbers and templates, and send and receive messages at scale through the official API.
Why not just use the WhatsApp app?
The consumer and Business apps are built for one device and a few conversations. The WhatsApp Business Platform (the API) is built for teams: a shared inbox, many agents, automation, templates, bulk campaigns and integrations. To use it you go through the official Cloud API.
Official Cloud API vs grey-market gateways
Some vendors resell unofficial “gateways” that risk getting your number banned. VoiceStream uses Meta’s official WhatsApp Cloud API, and each tenant connects their own WhatsApp Business Account and Phone Number ID — with HMAC SHA-256 webhook verification for security.
Do you need a BSP?
If you want multiple agents, automation, WhatsApp Business Calling, or campaigns, yes — you need the official platform. VoiceStream gives you that plus voice (PBX), Telegram and AI agents in one place, so you are not stitching a BSP, a PBX and a chatbot vendor together.
